Google SynthID is a state-of-the-art watermarking system designed to embed imperceptible digital signatures directly into AI-generated images, videos, text, and audio, enabling reliable detection of AI origin without compromising content quality.
How SynthID works
SynthID embeds watermarks at the pixel level during content generation, integrating the watermark into the image rather than adding metadata or visible marks. It does this by subtly altering pixel values using deep learning models trained jointly to embed and detect unique watermark patterns. This process preserves the visual quality and usability of the image while embedding a robust hidden signature.
The watermark is designed to be robust against typical modifications like cropping, resizing, color adjustments, and compression.
